Summer reading

When I think of summer reading, not matter where I am, I think of a garden spot, a bench in a park, overlooking water or perhaps a mountain range. I want to submerge myself in the story and when I look up I am going to dream!
I imagine myself curling up here...

Looking out to there...

Reading this...

Or that...

And that bench invites me to indulge a little in English reading...

While that chair reminds me of these books:

And these must be read here:

I just started my summer reading off with Elizabeth Goudge's Scent of Water! Oh, what a delight!
And may these books and all your reading desire last for a whole wonderful long summer!
Wishing you hours under a tree in a shady spot for reading, napping and... what ever else you like doing on a bench...

  2. I have a lovely rocking chair, whereby I read. It faces the backyard, so when I look up, I see my flower garden. I am very grateful.

  4. I agree. Being attached to nature in some way is great when reading. I've started The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas. I know it's a classic but I haven't read it yet!

  13. To you all, thank you for you kind responses, I could not exist without books....
Books do cultivate the mind and they have taught me more then I can say. They are my continous education, pleasure, entertainment and I have a hard time not to share my enthusiasm. I just cannot squeeze in another blog, dedicated to books alone, as much as I am tempted!
And I guess it fit's in to a graceful life style blog...
