Friday post

I am stuck, yesterday my computer gave up after days of probing and trying...
Today's post from my daughter's computer without access to my pictures! Ughh!

Anyway, do you remember the disaster with the sofa for one of my clients? My post from October 13Th will enlighten you...In short: The sofa had been delivered with the wrong fabric. This was back in October!
The saga continues, since we've gotten last week the impossibly bad news, that the fabric we selected, is now discontinued... And we had to find out by calling in repeatedly to ask for the status of the order. We were told for weeks it is in production!!!
We finally decided to go custom elsewhere. Now with an all new sofa, new fabric choice, pillows and trim cross your fingers for end of February! By which time it will mark the year, since I started this project.
We are done with everything else and it turned out really comfortable and nice. I will take pictures as soon as the sofa is in and show you the outcome!

Hope to be back very soon!
Wishing you all a relaxing weekend!

Damage control

Yesterdays disaster has turned out manageable (as hoped for)...
Thank you all for your heartfelt comments, I appreciate it so much!
We returned to the shop and everybody was very apologetic and kind, promising speedy production and delivery of the originally ordered sofa and on our way out we discovered a bench, just reduced, which will fit in nicely in the entrance across our hall chest! So much done in 20 minutes! We would not have been there if it was is not for the wrong sofa!!!
There is often something good to be found in something gone wrong!

Now it comes together very nicely and I hope to finish this project as soon as all missing pieces arrives.

Design disaster...

Today had been a big day for one of my clients: The final delivery was scheduled this morning and over the last days the excitement had been rising and finally the truck arrived.
We had ordered a side board, a beautiful hall chest and the anchor for our living room: A large sofa. See left for green upholstery fabric.

Before unloading we checked the sofa and to our utmost horror it had been made entirely with the accent fabric, an expensive striped silk we had selected for the two accent pillows. No sign of our original sofa fabric, no sign of fringes on the cushions, we checked the order and apparently no mistake had been made with a sofa mix up. Our sofa was wrong! It looks hideous! Of course we did not accept it, of course there will be a new sofa, but our hope is, we will not have to wait another 8 weeks to get into the home.

I can't tell you my client's disappointment and anger, but we will master that last hurdle too! These are the only to common pitfalls in interior decorating and design...
