Treasured weekend

Welcome to the cooler season! I love the glow of candles, an open book by the fire and all the things I love to live with in my house...

This weekend will give me time to work on some house projects. First to give my kitchen a tiny face lift. (Which I started already a week ago and now it's to the finish line. I will post....And then to re-upholster our dining chairs and a bench. Have staple gun, will use it!

Wishing you all a treasured weekend! And the time to do those things in the pipeline.....

Little foundling

While driving around collecting my daughter and friends from school I noticed a chair sitting lonely by the curbside at on of the houses in the neighborhood. Being at an arkward location I decided to skip my 'research' and drive by. On the way back my daughter calls: Mom, did you see the chair??? Good girl, a kid after my own taste...I wonder where she got this from...

So we stop and have a closer look. Nothing wrong, very comfortable and smells good too, with upholstery you have to be careful, some people have cats and what not all over the furniture...
Off it goes into my trusty trunk! Thank you neighbor! The girls were joking, guess the people just put it in front of the yard while cleaning something up and the chair - puff - gone....
At home a good clean up on my end and here it is, my new office chair!

Just in case, I will look for missing chair posters...

What do you think, is it a keeper?

Hang in there, baby

Sometimes I wish I still had a little one to swing in something like that! How soothing this must be? But I found something for grown ups too!
The Leander Hanging Cradle...

And this lovely wicker model seen here! What a sweet little baby nest!
Sheepskin and a wooden rattle can not be far...

And once you have outgrown this phase you can move into this one...

Some things just never go out of style, and the classic modern creations by one of the pioneers of the modern furniture movement are as sought after today as they were forty years ago. In 1968 Eero Aarnio designed the famous Hanging Bubble Chair a follow up piece to the Ball Chair which in contrast is transparent so light can come in from all directions. This modern hanging acrylic sphere features removable cushions and hangs from the ceiling at almost any height.

Some like it hot...from here...

Of course this fab seat comes from one of my favorite stores...any wild guess?

I love hanging chairs, such fun!
