Hang in there, baby

Sometimes I wish I still had a little one to swing in something like that! How soothing this must be? But I found something for grown ups too!
The Leander Hanging Cradle...

And this lovely wicker model seen here! What a sweet little baby nest!
Sheepskin and a wooden rattle can not be far...

And once you have outgrown this phase you can move into this one...

Some things just never go out of style, and the classic modern creations by one of the pioneers of the modern furniture movement are as sought after today as they were forty years ago. In 1968 Eero Aarnio designed the famous Hanging Bubble Chair a follow up piece to the Ball Chair which in contrast is transparent so light can come in from all directions. This modern hanging acrylic sphere features removable cushions and hangs from the ceiling at almost any height.

Some like it hot...from here...

Of course this fab seat comes from one of my favorite stores...any wild guess?

I love hanging chairs, such fun!

  1. What fun for us adults! I would love to replicate the last picture. In my dreams...I picture having a cute cottage lake house with one of these hanging chairs to sit in a just whittle away the day. There are so many different ways to add a touch of whimsy to our lives. Why is it so hard to do so? Great post, made me smile!
P.S. I am really happy about my french reading lamps. Can't wait for them! Thanks!

  2. Oh, I do love that blue one. Can't you just imagine swinging along in that, on a porch by the sea?

  3. I love this! Why don't more people use hanging baskets for children? I always thought it would be a nice idea to hang babies from trees when outside gardening, like the Native Americans when they worked the fields. I suppose most people think that would be crazy! we'll see once i have children of my own.... and I love the transition to adult baskets! i still find a rocking motion so soothing, and love a big old wooden rocking chair on a front porch to watch the evening fade! love this, into the inspiration folder!

  4. I love that hanging basket for a baby! It's really adorable. Something as simple as this could really make a room seem dreamy. Is the blue one from Anthropologie?
