Mood swings

The North Eastern region seems to be under a rain spell this spring /early summer and it slowly begins to take hold of my mood...I had to truly push myself to get going this morning, knowing that games and practice and garden work were awaiting me.
Feeling cross I took hold of my camera and as I searched for proof I started to realize how beautiful everything has been growing, loved the reflexions on the wooden deck, saw the mist in the trees after the first morning shower and a cloud lifted from my soul!
Watching our dog - Canine molus - digging happily in the moist ground for long lost bones made me smile and to my surprise I seem not the only one utterly confused by the temperatures: My dormant amaryllis started to bloom again, so that I finally gave in and began to water the poor thing.
After a day so typical for this spring, mixed sun and rain, laced with storm clouds we enjoyed our lovely fireplace tonight.
Well, I'll give the weather god a couple of weeks - oh no, make this days - to get it all out of the system, then we are traveling and I need sunshine badly for our beach vacation!

I hope you'll find beauty in unexpected places!

  4. What a great day! I love the rain, but can get sick of it really quickly. The smell is so great after a fresh rain though..isn't it?

Thanks for the visit to my blog :)

    Best,

  5. I enjoyed your comments on Architect Design's blog. Nice to hear from others who live in smaller, but not necessarily lesser, worlds. When I married 34 years ago I told my husband I hoped our home would be small but jewel like. Still working on the jewel like. Your garden is lovely and your dog says he needs his portrait painted!

  7. It's raining here in Brooklyn, too. But your backyard is looking like a rain forest preserve: green, lush and, I'm sure, fragrant. Makes for a cool summer rest. Say hello to Mirik.

  10. I completely relate to your rain mood. We had the same weather in Maine last week and then again on Sunday and after a few days of it it can really get to you!

The sun is shining now and our garden is bursting forth. Thank you for sharing your garden with us. Your watch dog is particularly handsome!
