This weekend invites to finally take care of all the little chores around the house, taking in our Oleanders, I dug up garden planted house plants and brought them back in, my ficus thrived in a semi shady corner in the garden, while we had been in Massachusetts. Seeing its growth, I had left it out until a few days ago. My husband will store the grill and the umbrellas in the garage... Gutters need cleaning from leaves, that sort of thing.
Our office, the actual sun room of the house with its slate floor and - being almost not at all insulated - permafrost temperatures in winter - lends itself to house those large plants for survival of the fittest...which means, they are better suited to survive then we are....well, the heater has a hard time to keep up with winter temperatures.
Ah, the pleasures of a seasoned home!
But, inside elsewhere it's getting warmer, I pulled out winter blankets and pillows, stored away summer cushions and checked holiday decorations, ordered yummy beeswax candles here and changed our bedding for cold nights.
Oscar warms his back by the fire...
The other day I saw the most gorgeous bedding and need to convince my hubby of its utmost importance for my survival...
Do you remember our family room, being painted in May? Now it's time to warm up this turquoise/white/red room and just by adding some different pillows and changing some decoration at the table it made a transformation towards cozy. This was spring...
And here the room now, it's almost end of October! The rain drips outside the window as I write this, but a somewhat warm air convinces lots of migrating birds to chirp in front of my window, they ramble through the large trees and have an activity all to their own. Life is beautiful!
Warm up this weekend!
