Being in Vermont over the last days of the last year (It does sound strangely long ago, right?) I had a chance to browse local design stores and antique malls....it was such fun and I found many pretty things.
The wintery atmosphere of the pretty little town made everything lovely and I had time enough not to rush through places and even had time to chat with the shop keepers.

One place in particular made me stop and look, a place which drew me in already at the steps up to her small but meticulously decorated shop:
A red sign announced: "There is no place like home...." - Dorothy


It had me at hallo!
I had arrived at 'Heaven Sent'.



The owner Janice Clunan keeps treasures for the home and gifts to give, beautiful reproduction furniture and objects to be desired! All very French and very classy! Artwork, candle holders, hurricanes, mirrors and lamps, some carefully selected china and the one or other surprise object. I loved all of it!



From beautiful flower arrangements to table linens and bedding one can find almost everything for a stylish home.

It was like stepping in a well appointed home, small, but wonderful! Cheerful and welcoming.





Check out the wooden carved valance on top of the shelf: it's removable and one of four. It can be hung like pictured on top of a book shelf or perhaps above a window or door. Just imagine the possibilities...

We talked a bit about our design passion and how to manage shop and work in economical challenging times and we both parted with the hope for a wonderful start into the new decade!

I enjoyed my visit and can't wait to be back come next winter season...
